Well said Steve, very articulately put, and thanks for tracking down the original quote. As you say, without crediting it to Ms Monroe it has lost half its origin and people have lost the opportunity to see it from a female (though I agree with you outdated and of its time perspective). Well done Sally Ann for your persistence in trying to be heard. Even if the t shirts don't get removed at least a few people may have a few thoughts and discussions they wouldn't otherwise have had and you never know where that may lead...

...and right on cue, this is how it manifests:

New Zealand PM John Key apologises for hair-pulling

Mr Key told reporters on Wednesday that he had "a very warm and friendly relationship" with staff at the cafe where "we have lots of fun and games there, there's always lots of practical jokes and things

Maybe New Zealand's Prime Minister has "been there, done that, bought the t-shirt" B)

"build it and they will come...." (Field Of Dreams)

Hi All,
Feeling like we may have found a way to highlight how everyday 'throw away' comments, (feeling tempted to add the word 'blokey' to this description) are not ok.
At the Seminar Event held yesterday I shared the original T Shirt picture and the feedback was overwelmingly that this message is not ok either.
Also shared that a further email message from a representative from Garica Jean's marketing personnel has informed me that:
'We have a more positive, fun tongue-in-cheek interpretation; making a woman laugh could be the key to her heart.'

For me, it's the continual use of expressions like'tongue-in-cheek', 'it's only banter' or 'only joking' that continues to minimise how others may feel.

Below is my suggestion for another T Shirt - may be Garcia Jeans could market this instead?
